Description
This is American Flyer No. K775 Baggage Loader that dates to 1954. This one works and includes the 1954 version of the 974 Box Unloading Car with American Flyer Lines lettering. This one is complete and operational with the original buttons, track trip and three boxes and three flat bottom milk cans. These Baggage Loaders were introduced in 1950 for the 734 cars, but were sold separately from the cars. Then in 1953 Gilbert started selling the loader with the car. Later that year the set became the K775 with the 974 car (the K being for knuckle). In 1953 the set came most often with a green base loader, but by 1954 all loaders had the black base. This one worked as well as any of these work, which to be honest with you, is not very good. The man jumped forward and sometimes the boxes made it into the car and sometimes not. You need to work with these a little and use some oil or graphite in the chute. The loader does have some sticker residue in the track area. The 974 has good catwalks and the brake wheel. It did work. Overall, I'll grade this outfit at C-6, but the car is a little better than that. The lettering is good on the car and buttons. There is no solder on the clips on the bottom of the buttons. No instructions but I can include a copy of the instructions if the winning bidder needs one. A wonderful accessory for any American Flyer lay-out. There is a lot of action here for your lay-out that you are getting extra time to play with during this difficult time for many of us. Don't let this one get away. Have fun bidding on this item. WMF.As with all Ebay sales by Farner's Flyer, there is a low starting bid and no reserve. This item will sell. The present seller has been a TCA member since 1980.

The Train Shows are returning. During the season I do various trains shows in the Midwest including the monthly Great Midwest Train Show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Chicago as well as the two TCA Shows in York, PA along with some Great Train Shows. If you feel that our paths are going to cross at one of these shows and you want the trains hand-delivered that would be fine to help you save on postage. Still, pay for the item at the time of purchase here on Ebay, but no postage costs. This summer, I'll be doing the show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on August 8 and then the Great Train Expo Show in Dayton, Ohio on August 14 and 15. I hope to see some of you at these shows. I'll be doing more shows in the fall and winter, but still working to firm up a schedule and dates.
