Description

Beautiful French 3 Bolt deep sea diving helmet, Rene Piel / or Charles Petit, late 1800's - early 1900's. Early examples were made out of one sheet of copper, with castellated seams, like on this helmet, (above and below front window, see photos 6,7,& 8).  Condition is what one might expect for age/use.  Old work was done on the inside of the bonnet, (last 3 photos show inside and outside).  Notice the exhaust assembly soldering, (see 9th photo).  Expected scratches, dings, and aged patina.  Overall, in good solid condition for it's age.  Being sold for collectible, and decorative purposes.  Seller is not responsible for anyone's safety, with the use of this item.  Should be inspected by a professional technician before use.  12 photos are a part of this description.
