DESCRIPTION
Characteristics
Nymphaea Rubra is native to Asia and is quite an easy to grow plant in the aquarium.
It requires bright lights and a rich substrate in order to thrive, but otherwise makes few other demands in an aquarium. Beautiful and very varied species with reddish leaves, before forming floating leaves. Nymphaea rubra forms many underwater leaves. If you don't want floating leaves, prune the roots and leaves a nutritious bottom encourages growth. When the plant grows older it sometimes sends a flower stem upto the water surface with an aromatic, elegant lily flower.
