    Description

    This is a beautifully-detailed, stamped,
reproduction of the Pilot’s Badge –
    the
    Flugzeugführerabzeichen
    – of
the Imperial German Army Air Service. The badge was created in 1913.
    The reverse
includes makers marks and it has a functioning flat-pin mounting system.
Such a badge was mounted through loops sewn to the tunic.  The badge is about 7 cm "tall."
The design of the badge is quite striking.
The badge has the Prussian crown on top. The wreath is made up of laurel leaves on the left and oak leaves on the right. In the center is a German
    Taube
    aircraft.
The badge was worn on the left breast.
I have sold dozens of these badges to satisfied buyers.  Many remarked that they found the detail to be excellent!
