    Description

    This is a high-quality post-war
    reproduction
of the Prussian / German Imperial Iron Cross First Class (1914) of WWI.
It has the Imperial crown on the top arm, a "W," for Kaiser Wilhelm II, in the center, and the year "1914," the year WWI began and the medal was authorized for awards, on the bottom arm
This replica is made of so-called "German silver," a nickel / copper alloy which was often used to make Iron Cross medals during WWI when Germany was blockaded and metals, including silver, became scarce.  The medal is "vaulted," a popular style, especially with flamboyant aviators.  The flat pin and catch are brass.
The detail and finish on this medal are superb.  It is a very "faithful" replica which will enhance any collection and look great on a German tunic.
All items will be treated with disinfectant before shipping!
