Description
What started as a therapeutic program by a doctor, Hubert Hall, in 1904, the Marblehead pottery company eventually emerged into a sizable firm producing numerous shapes in earthtone colors up until 1936 when they finally closed. The company created many solid/blended shapes as well as highly sought after decorated and carved examples. During the 1920s the company was known to produce many pieces of production art pottery, however, continued the high quality recognized in their earlier works. Many of the examples were of solid colors especially in blue, green, brown, and yellow. I currently have another example of this shape in a different color in my shop. Just found this while “on the hunt“, a quintessential example of arts and crafts pottery produced in the early 1900’s. This fine piece stands 2 1/2” tall and measures 3 3/4” across the widest girth of the body. After thorough examination, I can find no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. I did notice a tiny pinhead indention on the outside which was caused at production and a non-issue. I have washed the entire vase with acetone to determine its condition. A mighty fine example to hit the market!! Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
Thank you.
