    Description

    Here is a very nice Marblehead Pottery big open bowl in their dark matte blue glaze that they called "Marblehead Blue", with a light blue on the interior. This piece measures 8 1/4 inches in diameter and about 3 3/8 inches high, quite large for Marblehead. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws. Marked on the bottom with the firms die-stamped MP with ship and waves mark. The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915. A beautiful piece by a great New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.
