    Description

Macro algae is a great way to reduce nitrates and phosphates in saltwater aquariums. Often thought of as a plants, algae are actually part of the Protista Biological Kingdom. Unlike plants, they can survive without roots, as they absorb water and nutrients through their entire body.
An excellent resource for marine hobbyists, not only making water clearer and coral brighter, but macro algae can also reduce, and eventually eliminate, the need for water changes altogether.
In captivity, Red Hayi is one of the hardiest Gracilarias there is. It adapts well to reef tanks and grows at a very fast pace. Although able to survive a range of conditions, medium to strong waterflow along with medium to strong lighting is recommended. This algae does best attached to a coral plug or live rock at the base with super glue gel, but can sit/float freely when large enough. Your purchase is for 1 fragment of Red Hayi Gracilaria, comparable to those seen in the photos.
Macro algae specimens are guaranteed to arrive alive, double bagged, and sealed in thermally insulated packaging. During cold to temperate weather, a heating pack will provided at no additional cost. Combined shipping on macro algae is also allowed at no additional cost. Free shipping on orders of dollars or greater.
