    Description

Vintage H. CHAPIN #23 Boxwood & Brass Carpenters' Folding Rule
    This is a vintage 24"
    H. CHAPIN No. 23
four-fold broad sized boxwood and brass
    Carpenters' rule
with square joint.   This is the H. Chapin equivalent to the Stanley No. 70 rule.  This example is marked "
    DAMAGED
" in script on the inside to indicate a factory flaw.  I rate this ruler in
    GOOD CONDITION
overall.  It has 1 of 3 alignment pins in place, and folds up nice and tight.   Cleaned and ready for display.  Most of the numbers and markings are clear and easy to read.  An interesting example of folding rule by this Pine Meadow, Connecticut maker for you to add to your antique measuring tool collection!
If you have any questions regarding this item, please ask me prior to bidding. In the next few weeks, I will be selling folding rules made by Stanley, Lufkin, H. Chapin, Stephens, Rabone, Upson Nut, and others, so if you like folding rulers, please take a second to take a look at my other auctions.
Thanks For Your Interest & Good Luck!!!
